ZTI error opening SQL Connection
When deploying through a SQL database you might be getting the following error:
ZTI error opening SQL Connection: [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied. (-2147467259)
It’s important to verify that the user credentials you used have the rights (password is ok, etc). If that is still working you might be having a network problem or another problem that is preventing you to connect to the database. In the above example i also had the “ZTIDomainJoin has attempted to join domain [Deploymentlab] too many times. Cout = 4″ which made me think in the direction of a network problem.
So i deployed the OS again and had a look at the IP configuration during the installation (Press F8 during MDT setup), i noticed that the DNS ip address 192.168.0.1 was not the one of my testlab DNS server(see the basic lab setup post at the start). Changing the configuration settings of my lab solved the problem
After playing a bit with the local DHCP settings of the lab environment i got the following ip configuration which now had the DNS address 192.168.0.3 added. The name of the domain controller and the SQL could be resolved and the installation was successful!
